Hi,
Stephen Law, Consultative Telemarketing Expert and Business Development Consultant here - gosh what a breath of fresh air to hear Norman talking about prospects as real people.

Norman is spot on, that you've got to love what you do (telemarketing) if you're going to win. Norman highlights a really good point - talk to people - as people, not as buyers. I recently built a great relationship with with a client by having a 10 minute conversation about men and their mid-life crises. I went for a silly haircut and he managed to buy a motorbike and marry a lady on the internet. In short, we built a bond which went on to him buying a service and saving his company about £400k per annum.

If you're looking for help on telemarketing in the UK. I'm Stephen Law, the author of www.freelancetelemarketing.org.uk, which will help you with issues about choosing freelance telemarketing or using a call centre for telemarketing.

Is there really a debate as to which is a better lead an inbound lead or an outbound lead?

Doesn't their designation inbound vs out bound answer the question inherently? An inbound lead has contacted you, establishing that at least their is some interest as opposed to outbound.

The fastest way to feel the love from your sales peers is to generate inbound leads. Every sales person hates cold calling!

Inbound leads means they have contacted you making them warm as opposed to an outbound "cold" lead.

Inbound is always better! Sales folks loive for inbound leads.

Norman,

Great insights. I've also found that some companies are hesitant to take on a full social media campaign by themselves. It may be more helpful to outsource your social media.
I'm definitely thinking of outsourcing.
I found some great information on tips on
